Raspberry Honey Yogurt Dip with Fruit

With Valentine’s day right around the corner, I have a simple, gluten free, family friendly recipe that you can whip up in a jiffy.

Kids will especially love this recipe because the yogurt changes from white to pink, you can cut the fruit into cute, heart shapes or even make little fruit kabobs for dipping.  Kids love to dip.   So, pairing fruits and veggies with dips can be a helpful way to get more nutritious produce into those bellies!

Another helpful hint to to get kids more likely to eat produce is to let kids help in the preparation of the recipe.  The more involved kids are in the preparation of the food, the more likely they are to try the food.

Kids can help by: 

  • Mashing the raspberries with a fork or even their hands (that can get messy though, fair warning)!
  • Mixing the mashed raspberries with the yogurt
  • Making fruit kabobs with cut up pieces of fruit
  • Letting them pick out the fruit at the grocery store
  • Cutting fruit into heart shapes using a heart shaped cookie cutter

Raspberry Honey Yogurt Dip

  • 1 cup plain yogurt (use lactose free or dairy free as needed)
  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Red fruits (or any fruit) for dipping or topping

Directions: 

  1.  Mash the raspberries with a fork.  Add the honey and mix together.
  2. Mix raspberry/honey mixture with the yogurt
  3. Dip or top with red fruits or any fruit as desired.
